The timing for taking this course depends on your individual circumstances. The key factor to keep in mind is that all electrical installations designed from January 2019 onward must adhere to the new regulations. If you feel confident in your comprehension of the new “Blue Book,” then there may be no immediate need to take the course. However, if you are a member of a scheme such as NICEIC, ELECSA, STROMA, Napit, or others, they will inform you of the deadline by which you need to complete the qualification. Similarly, if you are registered with the JIB ECS check system, they will provide you with a specific date by which you must obtain the latest qualification.

The 18th Edition Wiring Regulations are crucial for nearly everyone involved in electrical installation work. Staying current with the latest wiring standards is essential, as these regulations serve as the industry’s guiding principles. Electricians, employers, and regulatory authorities all rely on the 18th Edition to ensure safe and compliant electrical installations.

The updated 18th Edition course will closely resemble the 17th Edition course. As a result, those who have already completed the 17th Edition course, including the 3rd amendment, can likely finish the new course faster. We offer a condensed 2-day 18th Edition update course for this purpose. Although this is a new regulations book, a significant portion of the existing regulations and the book’s structure will remain unchanged.

While homework is not compulsory, students who want to maximize their chances of passing the exam on their first attempt may find it beneficial to allocate a few hours each evening to reviewing course materials and practicing the concepts covered during the day.

Although there are no strict prerequisites for this course, it is advisable that participants have a foundational understanding of electrical installation principles before enrolling. This basic knowledge will help ensure a smoother learning experience and better comprehension of the course content.
